From an early age, Lucie Spedicato has been fascinated by the new: by creation, experimentation, and the process of shaping a story, a work, or a performance from nothing. Guided by this instinct, the young French harpist naturally turned toward contemporary music and composition. She is currently based in Hamburg, where her activities span concerts, artistic creation, teaching, and composing.

Lucie Spedicato began playing the harp at the age of seven in Évreux with Gudrun Hühmer-Virot. In 2019, she joined the harp class of Xavier de Maistre at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, where she completed her Bachelor’s and her Master’s degree. She has also received guidance from renowned harpists such as Catherine Michel, Frédérique Cambreling, and Anaëlle Tourret. Since 2024, she has additionally been studying composition with Gordon Kampe at the same institution.

She is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions, most recently winning First Prize at the Valentino Bucchi International Interpretation Competition in 2025, a competition dedicated to the performance of contemporary repertoire. Her strong commitment to contemporary music has led her to be selected for the Akademie kontemporär in Hamburg in 2021 and 2023, as well as for the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra in 2025. In September 2025, she was invited to Liepaja, Latvia, to perform as a soloist with Sinfonietta Riga under the direction of Normunds Šne, playing Répons by Pierre Boulez.

Always eager to explore new concert formats and interdisciplinary projects, Lucie Spedicato regularly collaborates in musical theatre productions and performance art projects. In 2024, her composition Warten auf Walpurgis was awarded both the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize at the Verband der Harfenisten Wettbewerb.

She has been a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium from 2022 to 2025 and has been a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Live Music Now since 2023, performing as a duo with flutist Seher Karabiber.
